Mr.
Young is a native of Mobile, Alabama. He received his undergraduate
degree in International Business from Auburn University in 2002, where
he attended on a Naval R.O.T.C. scholarship. He is a December 2008
graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law.
Upon his graduation from Auburn, Mr. Young was
commissioned as a U.S. Naval Officer. During his four years of service
in the Navy, he sailed extensively while serving as the Main Propulsion
Division Officer aboard USS Ticonderoga (CG-47), and as the Operations
Officer aboard Bollinger/InCat catamarans High Speed Vessel SWIFT
(HSV-2) and High Speed Vessel JOINT VENTURE (HSV-1X). Mr. Young served
as both Engineering and Deck Watch Officer aboard these vessels. He was
awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his service in
the Global War on Terror.
During law school, Mr. Young served as an Articles
Editor for the Texas Tech Administrative Law Journal. He also clerked
for the 72nd and 99th Texas State District Courts, and U.S. Magistrate
Nancy Koenig of the Northern District of Texas. Mr. Young also interned
in the corporate General Counsel’s offices of both Seacor Marine, LLC and
Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group.
Mr. Young focuses his practice on maritime, energy
and Defense Base Act claims.
