Mr. Azzarello is a second generation native Houstonian and a 1993 graduate of St. Thomas High School in Houston. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1997, with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Latin. He attended Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, where he received his juris doctor in 2000, along with a Certificate in Maritime Law. While attending law school, he interned at the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Administrative Law Judges in Metairie, Louisiana. Mr. Azzarello also spent the Summer of 1999 clerking with the London admiralty firm of Ince & Co. Upon graduation, he served as the law clerk to the Honorable Lee J. Romero, Jr. of the Office of Administrative law Judges and worked primarily with the Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act.
Since returning to Houston, Mr. Azzarello has practiced in the areas of Jones Act and Longshore Act personal injury claims, cargo and collision claims, limitation of liability, and insurance coverage disputes. He is admitted to practice law in all federal and state courts in the State of Texas, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, all Louisiana state courts, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Mr. Azzarello also serves on the Board of Directors for John Paul II Catholic School in Houston and is a member of the Notre Dame National Monogram Club.
