Ms. Mize has tried cases in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative officers and arbitrators. She is an aggressive advocate of her clients’ interests. Ms. Mize is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law, having obtained that specialization after a decade of experience. Her areas of employment law expertise include non-compete and trade secret agreements; race, gender, age, sexual harassment, and disability discrimination and retaliation claims; OSHA disputes; HIPAA privacy issues; unemployment compensation claims and appeals; and employment policies. Because she is bilingual, Ms. Mize is particularly helpful in situations involving Spanish-speaking employees. Ms. Mize’s practice is not limited to the courtroom. She also trains clients to prevent workplace issues, counsels them on how to resolve disputes, and drafts and reviews employment agreements and policy handbooks. Ms. Mize is a fourth generation Houstonian and received her graduate and undergraduate degrees from The University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with High Honors and Special Honors. Ms. Mize has devoted her career to representing companies and individuals in hotly contested business disputes. She handles complex litigation involving energy, environmental, financial, manufacturing, real estate, retail and service businesses, among others.
