Mr.
Frey is a native Texan, born in Bellville, Texas, and raised in Brenham,
Texas. He is a proud graduate of the University of Houston and the
University of Houston Honors College, graduating first in his class and
summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. He
attended the University of Houston Law Center, graduating magna cum
laude in 2007. While in law school, he interned with the Honorable
Nancy Atlas, United States District Judge for the Southern District of
Texas. He was an Articles Editor for the Houston Law Review, Executive
Officer of The Advocates, received the “Gus A. Schill Jr. Admiralty and
Professionalism Scholarship,” and competed in various moot court
competitions, earning awards for Best Brief and Runner-up for Best
Oralist at the Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition, Finalist at the John
Black Moot Court Competition, and Finalist at the John R. Brown Moot
Court Competition as Brief Captain.
Mr. Frey is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, the United
States District Court for the Southern District of
Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to joining the
firm, he practiced law for a Houston admiralty and maritime firm. He
co-authored the article “Narrowing the Venue Channel in Texas Jones Act
Cases,” which appeared in the Winter 2007 issue of “The Advocate.” He
is a member of the Maritime Law Association, Southeastern Admiralty Law
Institute, American Bar Association, Houston Bar Association, Houston
Young Lawyers Association, Order of the Barons, Order of the Barristers,
and Order of the Coif. Mr. Frey's practice includes admiralty/maritime
law and Defense Base Act claims.
